Comedian Katt Williams has a new title to add to his long list of accomplishments — Doctor. The legendary entertainer has been awarded an honorary doctorate degree from Miles College, recognizing his contributions to the arts, leadership, and cultural influence.
The news broke after fellow comedian Mark Curry shared the achievement on Instagram, writing:
“Congratulations to my brother Cat getting a doctrine. You deserve it. You are incredible FRIEND. Thanks for all the encouragement, keeping me in the game.”
Curry’s message — typos and all — was heartfelt, acknowledging Williams’ impact on his own career and the comedy world at large.
Miles College confirmed the honor, listing Williams among those celebrated for leadership and service. Social media posts from the college’s Top 50 Alumni Awards event revealed that Williams received a Doctorate in Humane Letters.
This academic nod adds a formal layer to Williams’ already formidable reputation for intellect and insight. In his viral Club Shay Shay interview, Williams claimed he had a high IQ, began reading at age three, and was accepted into college at age seven. He also stated that he read 3,000 nonfiction books a year between the ages of 8 and 12 — in multiple languages.
Fans have long referred to Williams as a comedic genius, celebrated for his razor-sharp wit, fearless truth-telling, and his deep understanding of social and political dynamics.
His honorary doctorate now stands as an acknowledgment of that brilliance — not just as a performer, but as a thinker and cultural commentator.
Congratulations, Dr. Katt Williams — the title fits perfectly.
