Boxing legend Mike Tyson is set to make his long-awaited return to the ring on Friday, November 15, against social media star-turned-boxer Jake Paul, but this fight is about more than just competition. The 58-year-old is using this opportunity to pay tribute to his late daughter, Exodus Sierra Tyson, who tragically passed away in 2009.
Tyson will wear custom boxing trunks designed to honor Exodus, who was just 4 years old when she died in a tragic accident. The trunks, created in collaboration with BYLT Basics, feature Exodus’ name stitched in white lettering on the front bottom corner, ensuring her memory is with him every step of the way. Alongside her name, the trunks also showcase the American flag on the left leg, the Tyson company logo on the waistband, and the BYLT logo on the right thigh.
Exodus’ death was a devastating moment in Tyson’s life. In 2009, she was found unresponsive at their Arizona home, with a treadmill cord wrapped around her neck. The incident was ruled a tragic accident, and her brother, who was 7 at the time, discovered her. Tyson has spoken openly about the grief and lasting impact of losing his daughter, a loss that has stayed with him throughout the years.
This match, Tyson’s first since 2020, is more than just a comeback. It’s a deeply personal moment for the boxing icon, and the tribute to Exodus is a touching reminder of his love for her.
The fight, which will take place at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, will be streamed worldwide on Netflix starting at 8 p.m. ET, giving fans the chance to witness Tyson’s emotional return to the ring.
