Vodacom has kicked off its V-Up Summer campaign, celebrating its 30th anniversary by giving away an impressive R500 million in rewards. This initiative, set to run over the next five months, promises South African customers exciting prizes and incentives to keep them engaged and rewarded.
Prizes on Offer
The V-Up Summer campaign offers a broad selection of prizes, including:
- Five Toyota Starlet 1.5 XR MT vehicles, with one winner announced monthly starting November.
- Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra and Fold5 smartphones, along with various other tech prizes.
- Thusano Basic Solar Kits to promote renewable energy solutions.
- Cash prizes and tech gadgets to cater to a range of customer interests.
Additionally, digital content subscriptions are part of the prize pool, including 12-month Prime Video memberships and 3GB of streaming data.
Who Can Enter
The promotion is open to Vodacom prepaid, hybrid, and contract customers, with particular perks available for postpaid customers on select plans. Those signing up or upgrading to Red Core and Red Flexi plans can claim 12 months of Prime Video Mobile Edition as part of their rewards.
How to Participate
To join, customers can complete V-Up achiever goals through the VodaPay app or USSD (*133#). The VodaPay app offers three daily free plays, while the USSD channel allows one play. Customers can also purchase up to five extra plays daily for one VodaBuck each. Additional opportunities for rewards are available in the VodaPay app through:
- Achiever Boxes: Goals like purchasing airtime, using VodaBucks, watching videos, or engaging on Daily V-Up.
- Exclusive V-Up Boxes: Where selected goals can be set to unlock further rewards.
Each time a customer qualifies, they receive instant notification of their reward or prize via SMS.

“Vodacom is capping off its 30th birthday year with a vibrant new V-Up Summer campaign to enable customers to enjoy their festive season to the fullest,” said Rishaad Tayob, Vodacom South Africa’s Consumer Business Director. Tayob highlighted Vodacom’s focus on customer appreciation, especially as South Africans have faced economic strain, noting, “Food prices have risen 50% since 2020.”
