Tom Holland has opened up about why he chooses not to share the red carpet spotlight with his girlfriend, Zendaya. The “Spider-Man” actor, who has been dating the Golden Globe-winning actress since 2021, said it’s all about letting her shine.
In his recent cover story for Men’s Health, Holland explained his perspective: “Because it’s not my moment, it’s her moment, and if we go together, it’s about us.” Holland and Zendaya first met on the set of Spider-Man: Homecoming in 2017, where their on-screen chemistry as Peter Parker and Michelle quickly translated into a real-life romance. They publicly confirmed their relationship in 2021.
A Power Couple On and Off Screen
While the two maintain a relatively low profile as a couple, their connection extends to their professional lives. Zendaya, in a Vanity Fair interview, described working alongside Holland as “strangely comfortable.”
“You feel extra safe with the person you’re acting beside,” she shared. “He’s so talented and passionate about what he does. He always gives things 1,000 percent, even if he’s absolutely worn down.”
The pair will reunite as co-stars in the fourth installment of the Spider-Man franchise, set to begin filming this summer. The film is expected to hit theatres in July 2026. Additionally, they are slated to act together in Christopher Nolan’s adaptation of Homer’s The Odyssey, also set to debut in 2026.
Behind the Scenes of Hollywood’s Favourite Couple
Holland and Zendaya’s relationship reflects mutual admiration and respect. Zendaya previously revealed that the pair met during a chemistry read for Spider-Man: Homecoming, where their connection was evident. “That’s how we met. Literally, at a chemistry read,” she recalled.
Despite their status as one of Hollywood’s most adored couples, Holland’s decision to stay off the red carpet highlights his commitment to celebrating Zendaya’s individual achievements.
