One of the most anticipated events on South Africa’s social calendar is back. The Zimbabwe Achievers Awards (ZAA) South Africa has just announced its 9th Annual Awards Dinner Gala nominees, promising a night filled with celebration and recognition for outstanding Zimbabweans in South Africa. Scheduled for November 30 at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Johannesburg, the event will mix glamour, achievement, and community spirit in the heart of Sandton.
An Evening of Glamour and Recognition
Esteemed Zimbabwean personalities, Madam Boss and Tyfah Guni, are set to host the night, lending their charm to an event that honours those making an impact within the Zimbabwean community. “We are excited to announce the final nominees for this year as we continue to celebrate one another after a year of inspirational and outstanding contributions,” said Rose Guwaza, director of ZAA South Africa.
The event will not only celebrate individual accomplishments but also highlight the collective achievements of Zimbabweans in South Africa. “It is my pleasure to congratulate all the nominees, after a rigorous process to come up with the brightest lights, when we are surrounded by so much greatness around us,” Guwaza added, emphasising the depth of talent in this year’s selections.
Public Voting Opens Soon
From November 4 to 18, fans and supporters can vote for their favourite nominees on the official ZAA website, zimachievers.org, allowing the community to take an active role in determining the awardees. This voting element brings a community spirit to the awards and fuels the anticipation leading up to the big night.
Shaleen Nullens Takes Centre Stage
Entrepreneur Shaleen Nullens, popularly known as Ms Shally, leads this year’s nominees with nods in three categories: People’s Choice, Outstanding Entertainment, and Female Personality of the Year. Ms Shally’s nominations reflect her impact across the entertainment and entrepreneurial landscapes, with an impressive reach that resonates with both fans and peers.
In addition to the general awards, two honorary categories will be highlighted at the event: the Chairman’s Award and the Friend of Zimbabwe Award. This year’s honourees include prominent figures such as DJ Tira, tourism entrepreneur Beks Ndlovu, and Chief Charumbira, each recognised for their unique contributions and support for the Zimbabwean community in South Africa.
