The Technology Innovation Agency (TIA), in collaboration with the Department of Science, Technology and Innovation (DSTI), the Innovation Bridge Portal, CSIR, and other key government stakeholders, proudly announces the first-ever SA Tech Challenge 2025.
This high-impact initiative is part of the G20 Digital Innovation Alliance (DIA) and Startup20, focused on identifying, scaling, and showcasing South Africa’s most innovative digital solutions from Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).

- 🥇 1st Place: R1,000,000
- 🥈 2nd Place: R750,000
- 🥉 3rd Place: R500,000
- 🎖️ 4th – 6th Place: R250,000 each
Each category winner will go head-to-head in a final pitch battle for the grand prize.
✅ Who Can Apply?
- Post-revenue tech MSMEs with <250 employees and <R250M annual turnover
- Minimum TRL 7, post-prototype with real-world implementation
- Must align with one or more UN SDGs
- South African-owned and CIPC/SARS compliant
- Operate in one of the 6 listed challenge categories
