Quavo, the co-founder of Migos and Grammy-nominated artist, will receive Variety’s Humanitarian of the Year Award at the 8th Annual Hitmakers event for his impactful work in gun violence prevention. This award follows Quavo’s establishment of the Rocket Foundation in memory of his nephew and Migos bandmate Takeoff, who was tragically killed on November 1, 2022.
Through the Rocket Foundation, Quavo has committed to addressing gun violence in the United States. His efforts have included partnerships and collaborations with lawmakers and advocacy organizations to drive real change. In September 2023, Quavo joined U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris and members of the Congressional Black Caucus at their Annual Legislative Conference to discuss solutions to the gun violence epidemic and strengthen community support for prevention.
The Rocket Foundation has quickly become a voice in the movement for safer communities, dedicating resources to raising awareness and providing advocacy tools to combat gun violence. This work, combined with Quavo’s growing influence in the public sphere, has earned him recognition as a significant humanitarian figure, with this latest honor from Variety underscoring his commitment to meaningful change.
