The prestigious Port Elizabeth Golf Club played host to a distinguished gathering of delegates, government officials, and private sector partners for the official Golf Day of the Africa Coastal Maritime and Marine Tourism Trade Market 2025.
This invitational event, held ahead of the main trade exhibition, brought together leaders from across the continent to connect in a relaxed, scenic environment — blending strategy, sport, and meaningful dialogue.
From tee-off to the final putt, the fairways were alive with industry insights, partnership conversations, and cross-sector introductions. Among the notable players were key tourism board executives, government representatives, logistics and travel partners, and several members of the event’s core partner organizations.
“Golf has always been more than a game — it’s a space where deals are discussed, friendships are formed, and leadership takes a breather while vision is shared,” said one event organizer Itumeleng Magonoa. “This morning was exactly that.”
The Golf Day not only celebrated partnership and collaboration, but also set the tone for a week filled with high-impact panels, exhibitions, and networking — showcasing the full potential of Africa’s coastal and marine tourism sector.
Hosted by the Africa Coastal Maritime and Marine Tourism team, the event underscored the importance of inclusivity, stakeholder engagement, and the human connections that power tourism development across the continent.
With clear skies, a cool coastal breeze, and a 23°C partly cloudy forecast, the Golf Day served as both a soft launch and a symbol of the relationships this event continues to strengthen — on and off the green. For information about the Marine Tourism Event go to https://marinetourism.co.za
