Though Nipsey Hussle is no longer physically present, his vision and influence continue to inspire—and now, his story is being told like never before. His brother, Blacc Sam, has revealed that an eight-episode docuseries chronicling Nipsey’s life and mission is currently in development.
In an interview with Complex, Sam said the team has been working on the project for a long time and is determined to get it right. The goal? To offer fans and newcomers alike a comprehensive, respectful, and deeply personal look into Nipsey’s life—not just as a rapper, but as a visionary, entrepreneur, and activist.
“We’ve been working on it for quite a while, and we’re getting close. Ups and downs, hurdles. Just trying to make sure that it’s done correctly and the right way for bro,” said Sam.
Capturing More Than Music: Nipsey as a Movement
Nipsey Hussle, born Ermias Joseph Asghedom, was not just a West Coast rapper—he was a community-builder, investor, and cultural force. Among his most recognized efforts was the co-founding of Vector90, a hybrid coworking space and business incubator designed to elevate startups and young talent from underserved communities.
Vector90 has since partnered with local governments and grassroots leaders to bridge equity gaps in tech and entrepreneurship, focusing on long-term solutions for urban economic development.
“Nipsey was always thinking bigger than music,” Sam noted. “The documentary had to be episodic. There’s just too much about bro’s journey that people don’t know.”
The Emotional Weight of the Project
Sam admitted that watching early cuts of the documentary has been emotionally intense. The process has uncovered never-before-seen footage and candid moments of Nipsey’s life that even his closest family hadn’t witnessed before.
“When people see the documentary—they love bro now—they’re going to be paying homage,” Sam said.
The docuseries is expected to cover the entire arc of Nipsey’s life, from his early days in South Central Los Angeles to his rise in the music industry, and his strategic work to create generational wealth and community resilience.
The Marathon Continues: Clothing, Culture, and Burgers
While developing the docuseries, Sam is also keeping Nipsey’s business ventures alive. The Marathon Clothing brand continues to grow, offering collections that blend streetwear with purpose. On March 1, 2025, the family took things further by opening Marathon Burger, located on Melrose Avenue in Los Angeles. The restaurant serves as both a community hub and tribute to Nipsey’s roots.
Each initiative—whether it’s a T-shirt or a burger—serves as a symbol of local pride and long-term empowerment, exactly how Nipsey envisioned it.
Release Details Still Under Wraps
As of now, the release date and streaming platform for the Nipsey Hussle docuseries have not been officially announced. However, anticipation is high, and supporters are eager to experience a documentary that promises both intimacy and inspiration.
Whether through art, enterprise, or activism, Nipsey Hussle’s message remains loud and clear: “The Marathon Continues.”
