Big Sean has put an end to the swirling rumors about his love life after a viral video led fans to believe he was seen with a new girlfriend. Following speculation that he and longtime partner Jhené Aiko had broken up, the Detroit rapper stepped in to clear the air.
The gossip began after a short clip circulated online showing Sean standing next to an unidentified woman. Fans quickly assumed she was his new partner, sparking chatter that he had already moved on from Aiko. However, Sean took to the comments section of an Instagram post spreading the rumor, calling it completely false.
“Yeah unfortunately, I never met this person in my life lol,” he wrote. He went on to explain that the woman in the video wasn’t with him at all — she was standing next to producer Hit-Boy, who had been cropped out of the shot. “I don’t know why she was so close to me, though,” Sean added. “I didn’t see it at all til I saw this video, and can understand the frustrations. Smh 😂 But I don’t even know this person at all.”
Breakup rumors between Big Sean and Jhené Aiko first surfaced last week after claims circulated online that the pair had split because Aiko wanted marriage while Sean wasn’t ready. Neither has confirmed or denied those reports, but fans have been vocal with their opinions on social media.
Big Sean and Jhené Aiko began dating in 2016 after collaborating on their joint project Twenty88, becoming one of hip hop and R&B’s favorite couples. The pair welcomed their first child, Noah, in November 2022.
While their relationship status remains unclear, one thing is certain — the woman in that viral video isn’t Sean’s new flame.
