South African media personality Minnie Dlamini will host the two-part finale of Breaking Down Borders, the celebrated travel and culture series exploring African youth and dance culture. This 14-part journey has followed Hammanskraal choreographer Paul Modjadji and his circle of friends and family as they traveled through Zambia, Namibia, Tanzania, Kenya, Nigeria, and Senegal, uncovering the richness of Africa’s cultural heritage and natural wonders.
Known for her vast experience in hosting, Dlamini will lead viewers through a reflective look back on the series’ highlights, posing thought-provoking questions to the cast. “The beauty of the show lies in its ability to tell our stories through the art of dance,” she shared. Her goal is to open up discussions that dive deeper into the significance of the places visited and the bonds created.
The finale, already filmed at the Kievits Kroon Gauteng Wine Estate, will air in two parts on October 30 and November 6. Paul Modjadji praised Dlamini’s contributions to the show, saying, “Minnie helped us relive the unforgettable moments of our journey. She allowed us to reconnect with each step, leaving us nostalgic and eager to set out again.”
Producer Wandile Molebatsi underscored the show’s goal of fostering Pan-African unity by celebrating the continent’s diverse cultures. “Breaking Down Borders shows how Africa is one, despite the cultural distinctions across countries. Each episode offered a new perspective on what unites us.” The show’s popularity in South Africa has inspired Molebatsi and the team to consider a second season.
