Orlando Pirates: R10 Million Midfielder Vincent Pule Released!

Orlando Pirates have released Vincent Pule, a PSL veteran valued at R10 million, continuing their squad trimming. Pule’s departure marks a significant change for the Soweto Giants as they restructure their team.

Orlando Pirates are continuing to refine their squad, and the latest to exit the Soweto Giants is Vincent Pule, a seasoned PSL midfielder valued at R10 million. This marks a notable departure as Pule is one of the highest-valued players to leave the club in recent times.

Pule joined Orlando Pirates in 2018 from Bidvest Wits and quickly became a pivotal player for the Mighty Buccaneers. Over his six-year tenure, he played in more than 140 matches and contributed to 35 goals, either by scoring or assisting. His legacy at the club is significant, not just for his on-field performance but also for his professionalism off the pitch.

In a heartfelt statement on their official website, Orlando Pirates expressed their gratitude towards Pule: “After six wonderful years, Vincent Pule is leaving Orlando Pirates Football Club. The 32-year-old came here in 2018 from Bidvest Wits and immediately made an impact for the Mighty Buccaneers. During his time with the club, Vincent went on to record over 140 matches, including 35 goal contributions (goals and assists combined), to cement his legacy for the Soweto Giants. On behalf of the entire Orlando Pirates family, we would like to thank Vincent for everything he has done for this football club. A phenomenal player, who gave us incredible moments in the field of play while also displaying qualities of a model professional off it. Thank you, Vincent! Once Always.”

As Pule exits, he stands as one of the most valuable free agents in the PSL, with an estimated market value of R10 million according to Transfermarkt.

More Player Exits Expected

The departure of Vincent Pule is part of a broader strategy by Orlando Pirates to overhaul their squad. To date, seven players have been released, with Sergio Almenera being the most recent before Pule. This restructuring began with the departures of Souaibou Marou and Fortune Makaringe, followed by Richard Ofori, Kermit Erasmus, Siyabonga Mpontshane, and Thabang Monare.

The reshuffling at Mayfair is far from over. Another five players are linked with potential moves away from the club, and seven more are expected to be loaned out. This aggressive trimming indicates Orlando Pirates’ commitment to building a more dynamic and effective squad for future competitions. Orlando Pirates fans and PSL enthusiasts will be closely watching how these changes impact the team’s performance in the upcoming season. Vincent Pule’s departure is undoubtedly a significant moment, marking the end of an era for a player who gave so much to the club.
