Rock icon and design aficionado Lenny Kravitz has once again reminded the world of his impeccable taste—this time with an exclusive house tour of his stunning Paris mansion, revealed through Architectural Digest on April 15. The 60-year-old Grammy-winning musician opened up about how he fell in love with the City of Lights and ultimately found his dream home in the early 2000s.
Love at First Sight in the City of Lights
Kravitz first visited Paris in 1989, intending to settle into a “little apartment.” But when his real estate agent showed him a grand mansion that once belonged to French aristocrat Countess Anne d’Ornano, his plans dramatically changed.
“I walked in and said, ‘This is my house.’ Spiritually, I knew,” Kravitz recalled.

The property—described as a “once in a generation” residence—is a masterclass in soulful elegance, a term Kravitz uses to describe his aesthetic sensibility.
Art Meets Soul: A Personal Curation
Kravitz’s Paris home is more than just opulent; it’s deeply personal. With pieces by art legends like Jean-Michel Basquiat and Richard Avedon, the mansion doubles as a private gallery. The decor seamlessly blends African and European influences, Afrofuturist touches, and midcentury glam.
“‘Soulful elegance’ means it’s designed, curated, balanced, not too minimal, not too maximalist,” Kravitz explained. “It’s comfortable, clearly. But also chic.”
This mix of brutal glamour and ethnic richness speaks to Kravitz’s global identity and lifelong passion for design.
A Mansion Built for Living—and Entertaining
Beyond its highbrow aesthetic, the home includes personal and playful spaces like a basement nightclub, embodying Kravitz’s rock-star lifestyle. A library dedicated to his late mother, Roxie Roker, adds emotional depth to the residence.
Kravitz also runs his own design firm, Kravitz Design Studio, which he founded in 2003. The firm—now an Architectural Digest AD100 member—specializes in interior spaces, product branding, and creative partnerships. His Paris home is a shining example of the firm’s vision.
More Than a Mansion
While Kravitz owns homes in Brazil, Miami, the Bahamas, and other global hotspots, his Parisian estate remains one of his most intimate and cherished spaces. From its luxurious design to the deeply personal details, the mansion is a living reflection of the artist himself.
