Atlanta, Georgia — Music legend Chaka Khan will take centre stage this October as the first recipient of the Beauty Icon Award, a new honour celebrating trailblazers in beauty and culture.
The event, launched by Bronner Bros. in partnership with Vivace and Red by KISS, marks the debut of the Beauty Icon Awards, set for Saturday, October 11, 2025, at the Bronner Center of Performing Arts (Riverside EpiCenter) in Atlanta. Organisers describe the night as “a live museum of beauty over the decades.”
Hosted by television personality Segun Oduolowu, the awards will bring together celebrities, cultural tastemakers, and industry leaders in a glittering evening dedicated to innovators who shaped style and identity across generations.
Honouring a Living Legend
At the heart of the night is Chaka Khan, whose influence has spanned decades of music, fashion, and culture. Known for her powerful voice and fearless style, Khan will be celebrated not only for her artistry but also for the way she has redefined beauty on her own terms.
“Honoring Chaka Khan with the Beauty Icon Award feels natural,” said Executive Producer Kelly Keith. “Her music and presence have empowered generations. Her fearless style redefined beauty, and she is the embodiment of a true icon.”
A Love Letter to Beauty
Keith added that the awards are designed to go beyond one individual, describing the ceremony as a tribute to the wider beauty industry.
“The Beauty Icon Awards is our love letter to beauty, celebrating the founders, artists, and innovators who built an industry, shaped culture, and set the standard for style and excellence,” she said.
A Star-Studded Lineup of Honorees
Alongside Khan, this year’s awards will also salute several trailblazers who have left their mark on the beauty industry. Honourees include:
June Ambrose, renowned creative director and stylist.
Jesseca Harris-Dupart, beauty mogul and founder of Kaleidoscope Hair Products.
Cliff Vmir, celebrity hairstylist and entrepreneur behind Femme Haircare.
Each has been credited with not only advancing beauty trends but also redefining how beauty and culture intersect.
More Than Style
For Ivan Chae, Senior Director at KISS USA, the awards are as much about culture and community as they are about beauty.
“At Vivace, by KISS, beauty is about more than style. It’s culture, creativity, and community,” Chae said. “Partnering with Bronner Bros. to honour icons who shape the future of beauty is both an honour and a commitment to innovation.”
Looking Ahead
The inaugural Beauty Icon Awards promise to cement themselves as a major cultural event in Atlanta’s calendar. By combining history, glamour, and recognition of pioneers like Chaka Khan, the ceremony aims to spotlight beauty as a force that goes beyond cosmetics — one that reflects identity, empowerment, and legacy.
