New York — A$AP Rocky has dropped a major hint about the name of his and Rihanna’s third child, and it’s one that’s already sparking conversation: Denzel.
In a new GQ interview, the 36-year-old rapper appeared to confirm that he and the Grammy-winning superstar have already welcomed their third baby — though he played coy with the details. When the interviewer congratulated him, Rocky casually accepted the well wishes before steering the conversation toward names.
“Denzel, no matter what,” he said with a grin. “The first female to come out named Denzel, it’s lit. We got it figured out.”
The name is, of course, a nod to the legendary actor Denzel Washington, who, along with director Spike Lee, was present during a joint interview with Rocky and Rihanna last month. When Rocky mentioned his admiration for the two icons, Washington jokingly responded: “I think Denzel’s a beautiful name for a son.” Lee quickly backed the idea with an enthusiastic: “You got to!”
A different experience for Rocky and Rihanna
The couple are already parents to RZA Athelston Mayers and Riot Rose, but Rocky said this pregnancy felt unique compared to the first two.
“Nothing’s ever the same. Each experience is always just different in its own right. And it’s no different with this one,” he explained.
He added that the journey of becoming a father has reshaped not only his personal life but also his artistic outlook.
“I’ve been yearning to be a loving dad”
Reflecting on his growth, Rocky was candid about how fatherhood has become central to his life.
“I think the evolution of who I am as a person, as an individual, as a dad, an artist, as far as being a parent at that time… just quite f*cking interesting, if you ask me, to see in front of everybody’s eyes how much I’ve been yearning to be a dad, and a loving dad.”
He continued, “I got nothing but love to give to these little ones. And as you can see, that’s what occupies a lot of my heart capacity — being a father.”

While Rocky has been open about his excitement, Rihanna has kept a lower profile during this pregnancy. The Fenty mogul has largely stepped back from the spotlight but continues to oversee her growing beauty and fashion empire.
