Come September 2nd, Simelane will be at the helm of SAfm’s flagship breakfast show, ‘The Morning Brief,’ where he promises to deliver a distinctive mix of hard-hitting news, in-depth interviews, and vibrant discussions to kickstart listeners’ mornings.

Simelane, known for his insightful reporting and engaging on-air presence, had taken a brief hiatus from the media last year to serve as the spokesperson for Takatso Aviation during its attempted acquisition of South African Airways—a deal that ultimately fell through. However, his return to broadcasting marks a new chapter in his illustrious career, as he brings his fresh perspective to the national discourse.

In a statement, the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) expressed its excitement about Simelane’s return, highlighting the significance of ‘The Morning Brief’ in keeping South Africans informed on critical issues at home, across the continent, and around the world.
