Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) has confirmed that Ousmane Dembélé will continue his recovery in Qatar following a right thigh injury sustained in early September.
The French international, who was recently celebrated as the 2025 Ballon d’Or winner, is set to undergo rehabilitation at Aspetar, the world-class sports medicine and orthopaedic hospital in Doha.
In a statement released on Sunday night, PSG said:
“As part of his rehabilitation process, Ousmane Dembélé will travel to Aspetar in Doha this week.”
The club emphasized that the decision reflects its commitment to giving Dembélé the best possible environment for a full recovery.
Familiar Destination for PSG Players
Aspetar has become a trusted facility for PSG’s injury management. Several other squad members — including Marquinhos and João Neves — have also received treatment there in recent months.
Dembélé’s Optimism on Return
On Saturday, Dembélé was honoured at Parc des Princes, where he showcased his Ballon d’Or trophy to fans before PSG’s 2–0 victory over Auxerre.
When asked about his recovery, he responded with optimism:
“It’s going well; I’ll be back very soon,”
though he stopped short of confirming whether he would feature in the upcoming October 17 clash against Strasbourg.
PSG’s Injury Concerns Ahead of Champions League
The timing of Dembélé’s return will be closely watched as PSG faces mounting injury concerns ahead of their critical UEFA Champions League tie against FC Barcelona.
While the club is eager to have their star winger back on the pitch, officials have made clear that the priority remains his long-term fitness rather than rushing him back too soon.
