Meghan Markle has weighed in on growing speculation surrounding a potential memoir and a rumored political career, setting the record straight during a surprise appearance on The Jamie Kern Lima Show, which aired Monday, April 28.
The Duchess of Sussex, who recently launched her Netflix series With Love, Meghan, was candid when asked if she planned to follow in her husband Prince Harry’s literary footsteps after the success of his memoir Spare.
“Would you ever write another book?” host Jamie Kern Lima asked directly.
Meghan responded, “Yes, maybe, for sure,” before clarifying that her current focus is on more lifestyle-oriented content. “I love, right now, working on everything in the space of hospitality and home and entertaining and food and those sort of tips. Something like that, I think, could be really fun. Of course, children’s books are great.”
On the subject of a personal memoir, she added: “I think people are often curious if I’m going to write a memoir, but I’ve got a lot more life to live before I’m there.”
The Duchess already has a literary track record. She penned the foreword for Together: Our Community Cookbook in 2018 and released her debut children’s book The Bench in 2021, which became a New York Times bestseller.
Meghan also addressed longstanding rumors that she might have political aspirations.
When asked if she would ever consider running for office, the former Suits actress laughed and said: “No. Oh, God… I mean, you could say ‘Never say never.’ No, I’m not interested in that. No.”
For now, Meghan’s focus appears squarely on her creative and lifestyle ventures. In addition to her new Netflix series, she recently launched American Riviera Orchard, a brand centered on home, food, and hospitality—a nod to her passion for curated living and community connection.
