Gauteng police have launched an investigation to track down those responsible for the alleged sexual assault and torture of patrons at Zanzou Bar in Pretoria. The shocking allegations have sparked widespread outrage, with political parties and community leaders calling for immediate action.
Calls for Zanzou Bar’s License Revocation
Abram Mashishi, chairperson of Gauteng SANCO, has urged authorities to revoke Zanzou Bar’s operating license in response to the disturbing claims. Meanwhile, the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) in Gauteng have called for the immediate arrest of Stephane Cohen, the foreign national owner of Zanzou Club, and have demanded that the venue be shut down indefinitely.
Leaked Videos Expose Alleged Abuse
A former bouncer, known as Pablo, has emerged as a key whistleblower, leaking disturbing videos of patrons being physically assaulted. According to Pablo, he possesses 75 more video clips exposing similar abuses and claims that police are protecting the club. He now alleges that he is facing death threats for bringing these violations to light. Pablo has alleged Neo Moela co-founder & Executive Director of Homecoming events is implicated in the crimes that happened at Zanzou and Drama.
Victims Speak Out
Three victims have officially come forward to report incidents of sexual assault and torture to the police. However, despite the serious nature of these claims, no arrests have been made as investigations continue.
Club Management Denies Allegations
Zanzou Club management has denied the allegations of sexual assault and torture, instead blaming former security personnel for what they call “malicious acts” against suspected cellphone thieves at the club. They insist that the venue itself is not responsible for the reported abuses.
Ongoing Investigation
Law enforcement agencies continue to track down the individuals involved, but concerns remain over alleged police complicity and delays in making arrests. The case has sparked renewed debate over nightclub security practices, police accountability, and the treatment of patrons in entertainment venues.
As the investigation unfolds, all eyes remain on Gauteng police to ensure that justice is served.
