Matjila’s journey began over thirty years ago as a radio personality on Radio Setswana, later known as Motsweding FM, where he not only entertained but meticulously managed archives across multiple languages. His versatility and linguistic prowess propelled him to become a celebrated news anchor on SABC 2, delivering prime-time news in Setswana, Sesotho, and Sepedi.

Throughout his illustrious career, Matjila not only excelled as a broadcaster but also advocated passionately for multilingual youth programs, emphasizing the importance of embracing and nurturing indigenous languages. His efforts were recognized with numerous accolades, including Best News Writer and Commentator of the Year at AFCON 1996.
