‘A QUIET PLACE: DAY ONE’ to Stream Exclusively on Paramount+ from August 27

Paramount Pictures’ latest installment in the A Quiet Place franchise, A QUIET PLACE: DAY ONE, will be available for streaming exclusively on Paramount+ starting August 27, 2024, in the U.S. and Canada. The announcement comes after the film’s record-breaking box office debut, which saw it grossing over R4.91 billion globally.

This new chapter takes fans back to the origins of the terrifying world where silence is the only way to survive. The film follows Samira, portrayed by Lupita Nyong’o, who returns to her home in New York City only to find herself caught in a horrifying nightmare. The once-bustling metropolis has gone eerily quiet, and she quickly learns that the city is now under siege by mysterious creatures that hunt by sound. Alongside her cat, Frodo, and an unexpected ally, Eric (played by Joseph Quinn), Samira must navigate this deadly landscape, where even the faintest sound could mean death.

With a stellar cast that includes Djimon Hounsou and Alex Wolff, A QUIET PLACE: DAY ONE promises to deliver the intense suspense that fans have come to expect from the franchise. Nyong’o, who has become a prominent figure in the horror genre, recently discussed her role in the film with BET, highlighting the increasing visibility of Black actors in horror. She expressed her excitement about being part of this shift in the industry, stating, “The tide has changed. I feel very lucky to be able to contribute to the diversity of cinema today.”

Rated PG-13 for its terrifying and violent content, the film will continue to expand its reach, with its availability in additional international markets set to be announced soon.
