The iconic record label recently celebrated its 30th anniversary. Bryan “Birdman” Williams and Ronald “Slim” Williams, co-founders of Cash Money, were honored with YouTube’s Leaders and Legends Award at an event in Los Angeles on Thursday evening. The duo was honored for their significant contributions to the music industry.

Bryan “Birdman” Williams and Ronald “Slim” Williams, the visionary brothers behind Cash Money Records, have been recognized with YouTube’s Leaders and Legends Award. This prestigious honor was bestowed upon them at a celebratory event in Los Angeles, marking three decades of their remarkable impact on the music industry.

“Birdman and Slim embody New Orleans to their core. They defied the odds, raising up some of rap and hip hop’s most iconic figures to superstardom and shattering sales records while doing it,” said Lyor Cohen, Global Head of Music at YouTube, in a statement captured by Fox8 Live.

Founded in 1991, Cash Money Records has been a powerhouse in the music world, launching the careers of some of the most influential and successful artists. Lil Wayne, Drake, Nicki Minaj, and Tyga are just a few names associated with the label’s legendary roster. Their success is a testament to the foresight and dedication of Birdman and Slim, who have consistently pushed the boundaries of the industry.

Reflecting on the award, Birdman expressed his gratitude, “I appreciate Lyor and YouTube for respecting what we’ve accomplished and what we continue to do. This honor shines a light on all the artists who have been on Cash Money Records or have been affiliated with the label. They share in this honor, too.”

The award presentation was a star-studded affair, with New Orleans City Council President Helena Moreno delivering the honor. The event saw attendance from notable Cash Money artists including Lil Wayne, Mannie Fresh, and Juvenile, all of whom celebrated this milestone alongside the founders.
