Elon Musk Welcomes 12th Child with Shivon Zilis: Insights into the Business Mogul’s Expanding Family

Elon Musk, renowned for his ambitious ventures in technology and space exploration, has added another milestone to his personal life. The 52-year-old magnate confirmed the birth of his 12th child earlier this year with Neuralink executive Shivon Zilis, marking their third child together. Despite the widespread media interest, Musk clarified that the birth was never intended to be a secret.

Speaking to Page Six, Musk addressed misconceptions about the newborn’s private arrival, stating, “As for ‘secretly fathered,’ that is also false. All our friends and family know. Failure to issue a press release, which would be bizarre, does not mean ‘secret.’” The name and gender of the child remain undisclosed at this time.

The first report of Musk’s 12th child surfaced in a Bloomberg article, which also explored his comments on global birth rates. This news follows the birth of twins with Zilis in November 2021, named Strider and Azure, as revealed almost two years later.

In addition to his children with Zilis, Musk has a notable history of fatherhood with his previous partners. He shares three children with the musician Grimes: a son named X Æ A-Xii (X), a daughter named Exa Dark Sideræl Musk (Y), and another son named Techno Mechanius (Tau), as confirmed by biographer Walter Isaacson in September 2023.

Musk’s family extends to his first marriage with Canadian author Justine Wilson. The couple, who met at Queen’s University in Ontario, Canada, married in 2000. They welcomed their first child, Nevada Alexander Musk, in 2002, who tragically passed away at 10 weeks old from Sudden Infant Death Syndrome. They later had twins, Griffin and Vivian, in 2004, and triplets, Kai, Saxon, and Damian, in 2006. In 2023, their daughter, who identifies as a trans woman, was granted a name and gender change, choosing to sever all ties with Musk.

Musk has been vocal about his concerns regarding declining birth rates, considering it a significant threat to civilization. In a 2022 tweet, he stated, “Population collapse due to low birth rates is a much bigger risk to civilisation than global warming.” His perspectives on population growth align with his recent family expansions, as he humorously acknowledged his contribution to addressing the “underpopulation crisis.”

This latest addition to Musk’s family not only highlights his personal life but also underscores his broader views on societal issues. As Musk continues to shape the future of technology and space exploration, his growing family remains a testament to his belief in the importance of population growth.
