ActionSA Urges Government Intervention Against Illegal Businesses in Hammanskraal

ActionSA, led by Herman Mashaba, has called on the South African government to address the issue of illegal foreign nationals operating unlicensed businesses in Hammanskraal. The party has petitioned the Department of Home Affairs and SARS for urgent intervention, citing concerns from local residents. ActionSA, a political party led by Herman Mashaba, has taken a bold stance against illegal businesses in Temba, Hammanskraal, where foreign nationals are reportedly operating without proper licensing. The party has officially petitioned the Department of Home Affairs and the South African Revenue Service (SARS) to intervene swiftly. This action follows recent alarming discoveries of unlicensed military training camps run by illegal foreigners in Mpumalanga and Limpopo, raising concerns about national security and public safety.

Lerato Ngobeni, a member of Parliament from ActionSA, revealed that during an oversight visit to Hammanskraal, the party uncovered over 20 homes occupied by illegal immigrants. These residences had been converted into spaza shops, restaurants, and wholesalers, many of which were selling counterfeit goods. Some of these structures were even found to be connected to illegal electrical transformers, further raising safety and legal concerns.

Ngobeni emphasized that the party’s involvement was prompted by a petition from concerned residents, urging ActionSA to take action. In response, the party has written to the Minister of Home Affairs, requesting raids on the identified homes. ActionSA has also reached out to National Treasury and SARS, urging investigations into the compliance of these businesses with relevant laws and regulations.

The party plans to pursue the matter further with the City of Tshwane, seeking an investigation into the violation of municipal trading and zoning by-laws concerning the 23 identified properties. ActionSA strongly believes that in a country where the rule of law is paramount, lawlessness should not be tolerated. Ngobeni expressed that South Africa cannot afford to be lenient in the face of growing crime, illegal immigration, and the proliferation of counterfeit goods.

ActionSA is determined to leverage its representation across all three spheres of government to restore the rule of law, uphold the integrity of the immigration system, and protect the interests of South Africans, particularly the most vulnerable. The party remains committed to fighting for the residents of Temba and other communities across South Africa that are impacted by lawlessness and illegal immigration.
