Zizi Kodwa, the former Minister of Sport, Arts, and Culture, has resigned as a Member of Parliament (MP), marking another significant development in his political career. The African National Congress (ANC) confirmed receiving Kodwa’s resignation letter dated July 24, 2024. This resignation comes shortly after he stepped down from his ministerial position.
Kodwa was sworn in as an MP in June, alongside members of the uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) Party, mere days after resigning from his ministerial role. His resignation has been officially acknowledged and accepted by the ANC. Acting national spokesperson Zuko Godlimpi expressed the party’s sentiments, stating, “The ANC has accepted the letter and wishes Zizi well.”
