Sean "Diddy" Combs has been arrested following a grand jury indictment related to abuse and sex trafficking allegations. His former girlfriend, Cassie, filed a lawsuit last year.

On September 16, 2024, music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs was arrested and taken into federal custody in New York City following a grand jury indictment. The arrest stems from allegations of abuse and sex trafficking made by his former girlfriend, R&B singer Cassie Ventura, nearly a year ago. The news broke after Cassie filed a lawsuit accusing Combs of sexual and physical abuse, as well as sex trafficking, according to a CBS News report.

On September 17, Combs was officially charged with three counts: racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking by force, fraud, or coercion, and transportation to engage in prostitution. These charges come in the wake of a months-long investigation. Back in March, both his Los Angeles and Miami homes were raided by Homeland Security due to ongoing sex trafficking allegations.

One of the critical moments in the case was the release of a 2016 video earlier this year, where Combs is seen allegedly attacking Ventura in a hotel hallway. Following the video’s release, Combs publicly apologized, although details surrounding that incident remain unclear.

Marc Agnifilo, Combs’ attorney, responded to the indictment, stating that they are disappointed by the U.S. Attorney’s Office decision to pursue what he believes is an “unjust prosecution.” Agnifilo highlighted Combs’ long-standing career as a music icon and philanthropist, emphasising his contributions to the Black community. He urged the public to withhold judgment until all facts are revealed, asserting that Combs has been cooperative with authorities and even relocated voluntarily to New York in anticipation of the charges.

Despite his cooperation, Combs has continued to face numerous additional allegations in recent months, all of which he has denied.

As this is a developing story, more details on the charges and the legal proceedings are expected to emerge soon.
