Ashanti is basking in the joys of motherhood—and she’s already thinking about baby number two. Nearly a year after welcoming her first child, Kareem Kenkaide “KK” Haynes, with longtime love Nelly, the singer has revealed that she’s eager to add another little one to their growing family.
Planning for a Baby Girl?
In a recent interview with E! News, Ashanti playfully hinted at her hopes for a daughter. “We’re going to add some more,” she teased. “Definitely a girl to balance it out. I’m outnumbered in the house right now. So, a girl would be great.”
The “Foolish” hitmaker couldn’t contain her excitement when talking about her new chapter as a mom. “I am feeling amazing, incredibly pleased, humbled. My life has completely changed for the better. I feel full, you know? My cup is full,” she gushed.
Giving Back Through Motherhood
Beyond growing her own family, Ashanti says becoming a mother has deepened her passion for philanthropy. She and Nelly are exploring ways to support women and children in need, from donating clothes to partnering with shelters for displaced families.
“[Now] I’m like, what else can we do? Can we donate? We have tons of clothes. We’re always giving things away,” she shared, highlighting how parenthood has expanded her perspective on giving back.
A Rekindled Romance
Ashanti and Nelly’s love story has been nothing short of a whirlwind. The two rekindled their relationship in 2023 after nearly a decade apart, following an 11-year on-again, off-again romance. In July 2024, they welcomed their son, solidifying their bond.
